Drive north up pacific coast highway 1 into Malibu and stop at any number of free state beaches.

Disney Concert Hall - beautiful - built by the famous architect Frank Gehry

J. Paul Getty Museum
This place is truly amazing. They also have a villa museum in Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway, call for a reserved ticket.

Two of my favorite places in Hollywood (Sara)

Amoeba Music - not a landmark or anything, but i love it!

Arclight Cinema - o.k. movie lovers - real buttered popcorn, you can reserve your seat before the show, and the seats are huge, blue velvet covered delights!

And to the east:
Griffith Park Observatory you'll recognize it from movies, such as Men In Black
